About Esme
I am a Physics tutor with over 4 years of experience and a BSc in Applied Physics, specialising in plasma physics and fusion energy research. My academic and research background focuses on understanding the fourth state of matter—plasma—and its incredible potential. I’ve worked extensively on magnetic confinement and inertial confinement techniques, both vital in the pursuit of sustainable fusion energy. My teaching approach in Physics is gentle, reflective, and built around real scientific thinking. I guide students not only through theory but also through the process of asking meaningful questions. Laboratory work is more than following instructions; it's about discovery. I encourage learners to think like scientists, not just students. Whether it’s mechanics, electromagnetism, optics, or thermal physics, we explore concepts through observation, discussion, and hands-on thinking. For those working in modern branches like quantum or astrophysics, I make connections to real-world experiments and current research. I especially enjoy working with DIY scientists and curiosity-driven learners. I support them in finding their own unique path in scientific investigation. My goal is to build their confidence in experimenting, even when results don’t go as expected. Together, we learn how to reflect, improve, and communicate findings effectively. Every learner has a different way of exploring science—and I help them excel in it.
