About Allison

My teaching approach in Physics is nurturing, personalized, and focused on building strong computational thinking. I help students explore physics concepts through simulation, modeling, and visualization. We dive into topics like computer modeling, numerical methods, data analysis, and scientific programming using tools like Python or MATLAB. I believe learning physics should be interactive and hands-on. I design lessons that make room for experimentation and curiosity. Whether it's simulating particle motion or visualizing wave interference, we work together to bring concepts to life on screen. I guide learners step by step, making sure they feel supported and confident. My method blends clear explanations with practical coding exercises and real-world problems. I’m especially skilled at helping those interested in nuclear physics or research build a deeper understanding through computation.

About the lesson

I’m a Physics tutor with over 8 years of experience and a Master’s degree in Physics (MPhys), specializing in biophysics and the physics of living systems. My teaching journey has led me to work closely with biology students, pre-med students, and curious minds eager to understand how physics shapes life itself. I guide students through complex topics like molecular motors, membrane transport, and nerve impulses, breaking them down into clear, digestible concepts.

Whether you're exploring how ions move across membranes or how muscles generate force, I tailor lessons to your background and goals. I’ve helped students grasp the elegance of biomechanics and appreciate how physical principles govern biological function. My lessons blend mathematical modeling with conceptual insight to develop both intuition and problem-solving skills.

I take pride in making abstract physics relevant to real-world biological systems. From the nano-scale mechanics of protein motors to the dynamics of neuronal firing, I help students connect theory with application. My sessions are interactive, thoughtful, and designed to build lasting understanding.

I’m passionate about making physics a supportive ally for students in the life sciences. I believe the physical world holds the key to decoding the machinery of life.
