About Sierra
I’m a Physics tutor with over 4 years of experience and an MSc in Physics. I’ve spent years helping students not just learn physics—but see it in action all around them. My sessions often begin with a simple question: “Have you ever wondered why...?” From there, we explore the physics behind everyday things like boiling water, bouncing balls, or how a car comes to a stop. I believe physics isn’t just in textbooks—it’s in your kitchen, your driveway, your phone. I use relatable examples and simple demonstrations to make abstract ideas feel real and memorable. Whether it’s Newton’s laws or thermal expansion, I break it down with clarity and relevance. My goal is to spark curiosity and help students build a strong, intuitive understanding of how the world works. I guide learners through conceptual challenges that make them think deeper, not just memorise facts. With the right explanation, even tough topics like electromagnetism or quantum basics can feel exciting and approachable. My teaching approach in Physics is gentle, reflective, and rooted in real scientific practice. I focus on helping students truly understand the “why” behind each concept, not just the formulae. I guide them through topics such as experimental design, data analysis, error propagation, and scientific reporting—skills essential for laboratory work. Each session encourages curiosity and critical thinking. I create a safe space where students can ask questions, make mistakes, and learn through hands-on exploration. Whether it’s understanding motion, electricity, or the mysteries of astrophysics, I connect theory with practical experiments that students can even try at home. I support learners in becoming confident scientific thinkers. My goal is to help them discover their own style of inquiry and analysis. For those who love building, testing, or tinkering, I bring out the DIY scientist in them. I also teach how to present findings clearly and accurately, just like a real researcher. Together, we explore science not as a subject to memorise, but as a way of thinking. Students leave each session with more clarity, confidence, and curiosity to explore further.
