About Jonathan

I have been a tutor for several years. Some students and parents have provided the following testimonials.

"To quote my son in 9th grade Honors Bio after his 1.5 hour lesson with Jonathan, “The time went by so fast and I learned so much!”. Saleem made a huge improvement in his grades after just 2 lessons, and we look forward to many more!"

"Jonathan taught me how to critique a scientific journal. He was patient with me and answered all my questions. He knew what he was talking about. I didn't have to explain the paper to him, he knew how to read the paper that was very complicated. I felt very confident after my session. I am no longer scared to critique a scientific journal. Jonathan is a great tutor."

About the lesson

Greetings, I’m Jonathan! I graduated with a Master’s in Biology with specialization in Pre-Health Studies currently applying to Medical School. During my college career I learned best when professors would manipulate the subjects to make connections much better than rereading PowerPoint slides. I tend to bring this and my experiences into my tutoring approach. Prior to our tutoring session, we will discuss what type of learner you are and will adjust to your needs. I like to make associations of topics to real world objects to learn the information. An example is associating the UPS logo when thinking of the Thalamus since they both transfer items to their designated locations.

I have tutored classmates and underclassmen while I was a Certified Peer Educator in University. I love to give my time to serve as a mentor and a tutor as I grew up without those resources. It brings me joy helping students succeed and to give back to the community. I have tons of resources and teaching methods that will help you achieve your goals. I can be easily contacted and will respond as soon as possible to all messages.

I spent the majority of my schooling career in the science field which led me to be awarded a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Biology with Pre-Health Specialization. Throughout that time I have learned different methods of learning such as using associations with images, words, and mnemonics to efficiently learn the information instead of the common cram for an exam then forget the information once you walk out of the testing room. I tutored underclassmen as a Certified Peer Educator in different college-level science courses such as General Biology, Biochemistry, and Physiology with methods that has helped me.
