Master the American Accent with a Los Angeles based actor & writer!

Dillon has this special mix of focus, fun, and empathy. He really understands how to break down sounds and accents both from a technical and emotional place. This makes it so much easier for me to learn and have fun in the process. I wholeheartedly recommend him if you're looking for accent reduction and/or help with nailing an accent for an audition/role.

Dillon is really detail oriented and really stresses how important it is to be consistent. It's clear pretty fast why he managed to get so good at this. He works hard and breaks it down into manageable pieces without overwhelming you. I feel like it's very easy to get overwhelmed when trying to get rid of your accent because there are a lot of variables to juggle at the same time but he addresses that really well. I didn't know that actors had such extensive training on sounds and accents!

Ich glaube es ist wichtig dass ich es erwähne: du musst wirklich hart arbeiten. Dillon ist ein richtig guter Lehrer und ich bin so dankbar, dass ich ihn gefunden habe. Trotzdem, egal wie gut dein Lehrer ist, falls du nicht hart arbeiten wirst, wirst du keine Erfolge sehen. Bei mir war das am Anfang so ein bisschen wischiwaschi weil ich einfach nicht geübt habe. Aber Dillon hat mir wirklich gezeigt, dass wenn ich in unseren lessons aufpasse und dann außerhalb der lessons mich mit meinem smartphone aufnehme wenn ich übe und mir selber zuhöre werde ich VIEL schneller besser. Es ist einfach diese Kombination von guter Lehrer und Disziplin. Inzwischen machts mir richtig viel Spaß meinen Akzent fine-zu-tunen. Ich finds auch super, dass wir in einer lesson ausschließlich English sprechen!

I just want to say that if you're thinking about working with any accent or dialect coach, it's important to remember that this is like learning anything. There's a learning curve. You won't be able to just do it overnight. I work with Dillon and found him outside of superprof. I'm an actor as well so I knew him through 'the industry' so to speak. He was able to quickly recognize what I needed to work on and gave me some great exercises and tips. I really enjoy working with him still. I'm not American and I noticed a really big difference in my speech for sure. I really like that somehow this makes Americans take me more seriously for some strange reason. It's weird, but there's definitely something that makes Americans think of you differently when you have a strong accent so I'm glad that I have worked on that and continue to work on it.
