About Natalie
I am a guitar tutor with 3 years of experience and a Bachelor of Arts in Music Theory with a Guitar Specialization. My teaching approach goes beyond traditional technique to include music production fundamentals tailored for guitarists. Students learn audio engineering concepts, home recording techniques, and how to create professional-quality guitar tracks from their own setup. I emphasize well-rounded musicianship through tone shaping, effects pedals, basic mixing, and microphone placement. Lessons are designed to enhance both performance and recording skills, helping students understand how to craft their sound. I have worked with learners from Early Intermediate to Advanced Intermediate levels, as well as Professional and Expert session players. My students gain the tools to not only play with confidence but also produce music that translates their artistry clearly. Each lesson is personalized to the student’s goals, whether performing live, recording at home, or working in a studio setting. By combining theory, technique, and production skills, students develop a holistic understanding of guitar artistry. My teaching encourages creativity, experimentation, and attention to sonic detail. My teaching approach focuses on building strong rhythm guitar skills for all styles and levels. Lessons cover strumming patterns, picking dynamics, groove development, and timing for various genres. I emphasize creating a solid rhythmic foundation that supports both solo and ensemble playing. Students practice chord transitions, percussive techniques, and syncopation to strengthen timing and feel. I provide consistent feedback to help learners internalize rhythm and develop musical confidence. Exercises include metronome practice, looped grooves, and genre-specific patterns. I work closely with Fingerstyle Enthusiasts and Worship Leaders to refine their timing, dynamics, and expressive touch. Lessons are practical, hands-on, and focused on real musical situations. Students gain tools to lock in with any band or accompaniment setting. I emphasize feel and groove as much as technical accuracy. Each session includes exercises, demonstrations, and performance application. Learners develop the ability to lay down steady, expressive rhythm parts. My approach encourages patience, repetition, and mindful listening. By the end, students play with confidence, precision, and musicality.
