About Deborah
The first session is rarely about singing a song. I start by focusing entirely on how you breathe before we ever touch a melody. We identify your natural tone and resonance gaps immediately.
My years of experience allow me to simplify complex concepts like belting or microphone technique. You get clear instructions on how to maintain your vocal health.
I provide the exercises that help you master your own instrument. Your progress is the only metric that matters here. My technique ensures you sound your best.

You might wonder how someone with a Master of Music degree from the Schulich School of Music applies that rigour to the human voice. I have spent 8 years working with 220 students, ranging from absolute beginners to performance focused artists, helping them understand that tone and resonance are the foundation of everything we sing. My background in the Conservatoire de Montréal ensures that my approach to sight singing, belting technique, and vocal health is grounded in established pedagogical standards. I find that when we treat the voice as a delicate instrument, the path toward pitch control and head voice development becomes much clearer.
We will explore warm up exercises together that safeguard your longevity as a singer. It is fascinating to see how the connection between breathing and performance can transform your confidence on stage or in front of a microphone. Since I provide free access to my own breathing and warm up notes, you will have the tools you need to practice effectively between our meetings. How would it feel to finally gain full command over your vibrato and dynamic range?
