About Brian
I am a passionate Drum tutor with more than 26 years of experience teaching college-level students. I help students build strong rhythm foundations while developing creativity and confidence behind the drum kit. My teaching style is clear, supportive, and goal-focused. I tailor lessons to match each student’s learning pace and musical interests.
I guide students as a mentor, helping them think critically about rhythm and groove. I use innovative methods such as groove development drills, structured warm-ups, and song-based practice. I also focus on tempo control and coordination to improve overall performance. Accountability is a core part of my lessons.
I provide personalized practice plans, track progress, and give constructive feedback. Along with drum techniques, I support students with rhythm theory, basic music notation, and performance skills. My goal is to help students become confident, disciplined, and independent drummers.

My teaching approach for drums focuses on creativity, understanding, and steady progress. I customize each lesson to match the student’s goals and learning style.
Creativity is a core part of my lessons. Students learn to create grooves, explore fills, and play along with songs. This builds confidence and musical expression.
As a critical thinker and mentor, I explain rhythm and coordination in simple terms. Students are encouraged to ask questions and think independently.
Accountability is maintained through clear practice routines and regular progress reviews. I help students stay disciplined and motivated.
Along with drums, I also teach related subjects such as basic music theory, rhythm exercises, tempo training, and performance skills. My goal is to help students become confident, skilled, and creative drummers.
