About Anna
Growing up in the USA, I have always loved and excelled in science courses of all types. I took uni-level chemistry in high school and received the highest possible score on the Advanced Placement exams.
Always a world traveler, I went on to study for my Master's degree in Chemistry at the University of St Andrews in Scotland. In the fourth year of my degree, I completed a one-year competitive industrial placement at AstraZeneca focusing on analytical chemistry within the pharmaceutical industry. I graduated in 2019 with honors and won two awards for my Master's project and an award for a scientific essay.
Since graduating, I moved to Australia to have a gap year doing volunteer work. Thanks to COVID, I'm still here!
My volunteer work allows me a lot of flexible time during the week, and I've been keen to get back into chemistry while helping others - tutoring is the obvious answer.
I'd love to help you simplify the complex and overcome obstacles in chemistry and in general! I've certainly done a lot of that in my high school and uni career, and I believe you can too.

Tutoring with me will be pretty low-key. We'll begin our first session by getting to know each other and how you feel about the subject. This helps me understand where the roadblocks are, and how you learn best. From there, we can pick topics, plan lessons and worked examples that will help you best.
This won't be like school (or uni): you can ask a question at any point! Our sessions can vary a lot depending on how you learn best: lectures, activities, going through tough problems together, Q&A, exam revision, exam-taking skills, etc...
My goal is that the more I tutor you, the more confident and capable you are on your own.
