About Immanuel
I am currently completing a Master’s degree in Finance at Simon Fraser University, with a strong academic background in finance, accounting, mathematics, and statistics. Before graduate school, I earned my undergraduate degrees in Finance and Accounting, along with a minor in Business Analytics.
I also have approximately two years of experience as a Teaching and Technical Assistant, where I worked directly with students and helped explain challenging concepts in a clear and approachable way. That experience taught me that every student learns differently, and sometimes a concept simply needs to be explained from a different perspective for it to click.
I’m patient, supportive, and committed to creating a comfortable learning environment where students can ask questions freely, build confidence, and develop a stronger understanding of math and statistics.

My approach to tutoring is centered on making math and statistics easier to understand by breaking difficult concepts into simple, manageable steps. I focus on understanding how each student learns and adapt my teaching style to their individual needs.
A typical lesson begins by identifying the areas where the student needs the most help. From there, we review the key concepts, work through examples together, and practice problems until the student feels confident solving them independently. Rather than simply giving answers, I focus on helping students understand the reasoning behind each step so they can apply what they learn to new problems.
With my background in finance, accounting, and quantitative coursework, I can also show students how math and statistics are applied in real-world situations. My lessons are suitable for high school and university students, whether you need help understanding course material, preparing for an exam, completing practice problems, or strengthening your overall math and statistics skills.
