About Aamina
Since childhood, I have loved numbers and puzzles which led me to do a bachelors degree in mathematics! I am very passionate about recreational mathematics so I love solving the Rubik's cube and doing puzzles like Sudoku and Kakuro! But I equally love teaching and supporting students in seeing the beauty of mathematics. I have prior teaching experience at a high-school for underprivileged kids in Pakistan along with being a mathematics teaching assistant for undergraduate students. Moreover, I hold a Masters of Education degree in Mathematics Education from Boston University, after which I also worked for the National Curriculum Council of Pakistan, helping them develop the national curriculum for high-school mathematics.

My lessons will focus on understanding mathematical concepts and procedures through problem solving, reasoning and discourse. This means that it wont be just me talking for a full hour and asking you to rote learn formulas, instead the lesson will be driven by both me and you where we engage in activities and discussions that help us connect ideas, visualize mathematics and be open to learning from our mistakes! A typical lesson will have us using digital tools, asking questions from each other, and justifying our work - all while having fun with mathematics!
