About Emma
My journey as a maths educator began with the realisation that many students struggle not because they lack ability, but because they were never taught maths in a way that connected with their thinking. This inspired me to pursue an M.Sc in Mathematical Education and commit myself to teaching maths with empathy, structure, and clarity. Over the past 12 years, I’ve helped students transform their understanding of elementary school maths, middle school maths, algebra, geometry, and SAT maths through steady encouragement and well-organised lessons. I strive to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable exploring ideas at their own pace. My teaching style emphasises step-by-step reasoning, visual supports, and multiple strategies so each learner can find what works best. Seeing students evolve from feeling anxious about maths to solving problems with confidence is deeply fulfilling. Outside of teaching, I enjoy working on curriculum development, studying new maths education research, and creating practice materials that help students grow steadily and comfortably. Maths teaching allows me to witness real transformation in students, both academically and personally.

Mathematics becomes more meaningful when students can connect ideas across different areas—from early numeracy to advanced problem-solving. In my lessons, I guide learners through elementary school maths, middle school maths, algebra, geometry, and SAT maths using calm, structured explanations that build confidence step by step. I help students understand not just how to solve problems, but why each method works. Beginners focus on foundational number sense, arithmetic fluency, patterns, measurement, and flexible thinking strategies. Intermediate learners study algebraic reasoning, proportions, equations, inequalities, geometric intuition, and multi-step word problems. Advanced students develop SAT maths skills, time management, critical reading of questions, and strategic solution techniques. My approach blends patience with clear structure so students feel supported at every level. Maths lessons not only boost academic achievement—they build resilience, independence, and analytical courage. As students become more comfortable with geometry, algebra, and SAT maths concepts, they begin to trust their problem-solving abilities and approach challenges with more confidence.
