About Leilani
My name is Leilani and I am a 16 year old GCSE student. I have always been hard working at school and have always been the top of my year group for every subject. In my year 11 mocks I got a 7 (A) in maths, a 8/8 (A*) in science and a 9 (A**) in English. I have a strong understanding in all my subjects at school, and I am confident in my abilities to tutor.
Besides from my grades, I love to work with younger children! Not only that, I want to make learning a positive experience for your child. Growing up, it would really annoy me when teachers taught young kids like myself and my friends in boring ways - we would forget what was taught just a week later. I don’t want this for your child, learning should be fun! Because of this, I had to rely on excessive hours of revision to get the grades I wanted.
However, this taught me the skills of how to actually retain information in a way that works for a lot of different people, and not in just one way either. These skills will transfer into my lessons, which I guarantee will improve your child’s knowledge.
I care for your child’s learning, and together we can make it a fun experience all while getting amazing results. Learning isn’t just a grade thing, it’s a confidence thing too!

In my lessons I cater to your child to pin point exactly where they are struggling in a certain topic and we work together to build a strong understanding and build confidence in that topic.
I teach through stimulating activities and games to keep your child engaged and to make sure they enjoy the process of learning! This could be through fun quizzes (competitive if in group tutoring), playing teachers (where the child takes the role of the teacher), using songs to help us remember key elements of a topic, playing online games such as kahoot and blooket, and having comprehensive reading tasks which gives your child information about a topic all while improving their reading skills.
** I offer 1 to 1 tutoring and group tutoring (groups of 3+), great for making friends and playing maths games against each other! Lessons will be held on google meet (video call). Available on Saturdays and Sundays, not weekdays **
I want to make sure your child enjoys themselves whilst retaining information - this is so important! Children tend to remember things better when they are actively involved in what they are being taught, around 90% of what we say and do is remembered through stimulating activities such as the ones listed above even after a 2 week period, where most people forget what they have learned.
