About Rasoul

I am a final-year PhD candidate in Mechanical Engineering at UBC Okanagan, bringing a strong academic foundation and several years of teaching experience. I have the background and skills needed to support students effectively and help them build a clear understanding of complex topics. I place great importance on creating a supportive and approachable learning environment, where students feel comfortable asking questions and engaging with the material. Through a professional and consistent approach, I aim to build trust and confidence, ensuring that students feel guided and well-supported. I am committed to their academic development and work closely with them to help them reach their goals while maintaining a positive and encouraging atmosphere.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is built on forming meaningful connections with students and helping them recognize their own potential. Over the past four years, I have worked with undergraduate students, teaching challenging engineering concepts and supporting them in building a solid foundation for more advanced courses. I try to present material in a way that feels clear and relevant.

In a typical session, I introduce the main ideas, guide students through discussion, and connect concepts to practical examples to strengthen their understanding. I place strong emphasis on participation, encouraging students to ask questions, think critically, and work through problems with confidence. I also regularly assess their progress and provide feedback to help them improve over time.

One aspect that shapes my teaching style is my experience as an invigilator at a Disability Resource Center. This role has given me a better understanding of different learning needs and perspectives, allowing me to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for all students.

Overall, I focus on adapting my teaching to each student, combining interactive learning with a supportive atmosphere to help learners from diverse backgrounds grow academically and gain confidence.
