About Leonardo

I'm fond of helping students develop confidence in the two subjects I'm passionate about. As someone that struggled immensely with maths myself at GCSE, coming from a different country, I know it can feel defeating. Teachers don't always support or believe in you, rather they lack the time to understand what help you're missing. This experience motivates me to help other students gain the confidence they need to excel! Because we all can do it and we all deserve adequate support.

Additionally, I have been working in student outreach programmes with university lecturers for the past three years and have gained a passion for teaching. I'm very excited to meet you so dont hesitate to contact me if you have any enquiries.

About the lesson

I've immersed myself in the world of maths and physics and have studied some of the toughest subjects you might have heard about. Quantum or statistical mechanics, fluid dynamics, chaos!
It's been so incredibly gratifying but also so difficult. I know how frustrating feeling stuck with maths can be. Sometimes it may feel you're not getting anywhere despite all the work you put in, or you feel slower than others in your cohort.
I'm here as a living testament that it doesn't have to stay that way. I went from a 5 in GCSE maths to A* in A-level maths and now graduated from maths and physics at a top 10 uni.
What changed was a different approach to understanding maths. I lacked much of the fundamentals and struggled with newer topics that required those fundamentals. I offer you a slow and compassionate step by step guide to each concept/idea. Every question has a background idea or foundation and I will tackle it with you at every step of the way. I will tailor lessons to best meet your learning type whether it be visual or other, a good diagram always helps! Believe me when I say, everything you're going through I've been there!
