About Greg

My love for mathematics comes from its ability to train the mind with clarity, logic, and structure. I completed a B.Sc in Pure Mathematics and later an M.Sc in Mathematical Modelling, where I explored both abstract reasoning and practical applications. Over 6 years of teaching, I have supported students in building confidence and strong numerical foundations through patient guidance.

I believe mathematics should feel understandable and empowering, not overwhelming. My teaching style focuses on breaking problems into manageable steps, encouraging curiosity, and helping learners develop independence through steady practice.

Beyond tutoring, I remain engaged with mathematics through continued exploration of applied modelling, optimisation problems, and interdisciplinary connections. Teaching is meaningful because I see students transform from uncertainty into confidence, becoming capable thinkers who can approach numbers and logic with calm skill.

About the lesson

Mathematics becomes far less stressful when students develop strong number sense and learn how to approach problems with calm strategy. My lessons focus on building fluency in arithmetic, algebra, functions, and rapid mental calculation through understanding rather than tricks. I guide learners towards clearer reasoning, faster accuracy, and stronger confidence with numbers.

Each session includes structured practice along with engaging challenges that improve speed and precision. Beginners work on foundational skills such as fractions, percentages, and equation solving. Intermediate learners strengthen problem-solving shortcuts, estimation strategies, and multi-step reasoning. Advanced students refine exam performance, complex algebraic manipulation, and higher-level analytical thinking through focused training.

Maths lessons also help students develop discipline, focus, and intellectual confidence. As learners improve, they begin trusting their own abilities and approaching challenges with less fear. My goal is to support students in building lasting mathematical strength and a positive relationship with problem-solving.
