About Knox
My connection with mathematics began through an appreciation for structure, logic, and problem-solving. This interest led me to complete a B.Sc in Pure Mathematics followed by an M.Sc in Mathematical Sciences, where I developed a deep understanding of abstract reasoning and applied analysis. Over 13 years of teaching, I have supported students from varied academic backgrounds, helping them transform uncertainty into confidence through steady guidance and thoughtful explanation. I believe effective teaching depends on patience, adaptability, and respect for individual learning pace. Many students struggle because they feel rushed or misunderstood. I take time to identify gaps, revisit concepts, and present ideas in multiple ways until understanding feels natural. I create an encouraging environment where mistakes are treated as learning opportunities rather than failures. Outside teaching, I continue engaging with mathematics through problem exploration, reading, and analytical exercises. Teaching mathematics is deeply fulfilling because I see students change their mindset, gaining confidence not only in math but in their ability to think clearly, reason logically, and face challenges with assurance.

My lessons focus on developing a clear conceptual framework across arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus by explaining not only how to solve problems but why each step works. I guide learners to recognize patterns, relationships, and structures that make mathematics feel organized and approachable instead of overwhelming. This method helps students replace confusion with clarity and confidence.
Lesson structure is thoughtfully adapted to the learner’s stage and goals. Beginners receive patient guidance in number sense, foundational operations, and early algebraic reasoning using simple explanations and visual methods. Intermediate learners strengthen skills in equations, functions, coordinate geometry, and logical problem decomposition. Advanced learners focus on calculus concepts, proofs, advanced algebra, and exam-oriented strategies, emphasizing accuracy and structured thinking. Practice problems are carefully discussed to reinforce reasoning and build independence.
Mathematics lessons also nurture discipline, persistence, and analytical thinking that benefit learners far beyond the classroom. Students develop the ability to approach complex challenges calmly, organize their thoughts clearly, and trust their reasoning process.
