About Bethany
My fascination with mathematics began with a desire to understand patterns, structures, and the logic underlying numerical relationships. This curiosity led me to pursue a B.Sc in Mathematics followed by an M.Sc in Computational Mathematics, where I gained extensive experience in analytical reasoning, modeling, and applied problem-solving. Over the past 9 years, I have taught learners of various ages and skill levels, helping them develop confidence, clarity, and competence in mathematical concepts through structured, patient, and engaging instruction.
I emphasize a teaching approach that blends theory with practical application. Lessons incorporate step-by-step explanations, visual aids, real-world examples, and interactive problem-solving. I encourage students to ask questions, explore multiple approaches, and develop their own strategies, ensuring they understand both the methods and the reasoning behind solutions.
Outside teaching, I continue to engage with mathematical research, modeling projects, and computational analysis, which allows me to bring contemporary, real-world applications into lessons. Teaching mathematics is profoundly rewarding because I see students transition from uncertainty to confidence, mastering problem-solving skills while nurturing curiosity, resilience, and a love for analytical thinking. Supporting their intellectual growth and helping them achieve mastery is one of the most fulfilling aspects of my work.

Mathematics can be perceived as abstract and intimidating, but my lessons focus on developing deep understanding through structured reasoning and real-world connections. I cover a broad spectrum of topics, including algebra, calculus, probability, geometry, statistics, and discrete mathematics, highlighting the practical applications of each concept. Learners develop not only the skills to solve problems accurately but also the reasoning to approach unfamiliar questions systematically. I strive to cultivate curiosity, logical thinking, and confidence in every student, making mathematics both accessible and enjoyable.
Beginners focus on fundamental numerical concepts, basic algebra, arithmetic operations, and foundational problem-solving, ensuring a solid starting point. Intermediate learners work on multi-step problems, functional analysis, graphical reasoning, combinatorics, and applied statistics, building fluency and strategic thinking. Advanced learners explore complex proofs, optimization, mathematical modeling, and abstract problem-solving to deepen conceptual understanding and challenge their reasoning. Each lesson combines explanation, practice, interactive discussion, and guided exercises to reinforce mastery and conceptual clarity.
Mathematics lessons also develop persistence, attention to detail, and analytical skills. Students gradually gain independence, learning to approach challenges calmly and systematically. Many experience the satisfaction of discovering solutions independently and enjoy exploring patterns and relationships within the subject. My goal is to foster an environment where learners gain both competence and confidence, transforming apprehension into mastery while nurturing a lifelong appreciation for mathematical thinking.
