About Steven

I’m a math, physics, and programming tutor who enjoys making complex ideas easier to understand. I have a strong background in mathematics, physics, and computer science, along with research experience that helps me connect theory to real-world applications. Over the years, I’ve explained challenging concepts to peers, colleagues, and research collaborators, and I bring the same clarity and patience to tutoring. I adapt my teaching to each student’s needs — whether you want to raise your grades, prepare for an exam, or dive deeper into a subject you’re passionate about. My goal is not just to help you solve problems, but to make sure you understand the methods and feel confident applying them on your own.

About the lesson

I focus on making sure you actually understand the material, not just memorize steps. If you know the “why” behind a formula or method, you can handle almost any problem that comes your way. I explain concepts in plain language, then connect them to the bigger picture so they make sense. We’ll work through examples together until you feel confident solving them on your own.

Typical Lesson Plan:

2. Clear, step-by-step explanation of the new topic
3. Work through a few examples together so you see how it works in practice
4. You try problems with my guidance — I’ll help if you get stuck
5. Short recap and a few suggestions for what to focus on before the next session
