About Gerard

I would write: My name is Gerard, I'm 18 years old, and I'm studying for a degree in Mathematics at the UAB (Autonomous University of Barcelona). I finished high school with a 9.42 average and scored 12.21 on the university entrance exams. I've always been particularly fond of mathematics and science subjects. I want to teach because I enjoy helping people understand things that initially seem complicated. Having recently completed secondary school, high school, and university entrance exams, I'm familiar with the difficulties students might encounter, and I believe I can explain them in a clear and easy-to-understand way. I'm responsible, patient, and consistent, and my goal is for my students not only to improve their grades but also to truly understand mathematics and gain confidence solving problems on their own.

My method is based on understanding rather than memorizing. First, I identify the concepts the student has mastered and where their difficulties lie; then I explain the theory simply and step by step, and finally, we apply it through progressively challenging exercises. Having recently completed my Baccalaureate and currently studying Mathematics at the UAB (Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona), I have firsthand knowledge of the common difficulties students face and the preparation required for exams and university entrance exams. My classes are primarily aimed at primary, secondary, and high school students. I can help both students reinforce their foundational knowledge and catch up on subjects, as well as those seeking to improve their grades and delve deeper into Mathematics. I encourage constant student participation: I prefer to guide them through questions and reasoning to arrive at the solution, rather than simply solving the exercise for them. My ultimate goal is for them to learn to solve problems independently and gain confidence and autonomy.
