About Jude
Hi there! My name is Jude Austin and I am a dedicated and enthusiastic maths tutor with a genuine passion for numbers. My love for teaching really blossomed during my time working at a specialised maths centre, where I helped students of all abilities overcome their hurdles. I want to teach because I truly believe that with the right support, anyone can build confidence in maths—and maybe even learn to love it! I pride myself on being patient, encouraging, and highly professional in my approach to every single student's learning journey.

My approach to teaching maths is all about breaking down intimidating problems into manageable, easy-to-understand steps. I focus on building a strong foundation so students truly understand the 'why' behind the formulae, rather than just memorising them. A standard lesson is 60 minutes, split between learning new concepts and guided practice. I am currently a gap year student and I have achieved A*A*A in my A levels in Maths, Further Maths and Computer Science respectively. I held offers from UCL, LSE, Manchester and Warwick and will be going on to study Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Warwick. I am also confident in tutoring mathematics admissions exams such as the MAT and TMUA after achieving 7.6 in my TMUA. I have experience as a tutor working in a maths centre (Mathnasium). In that fast-paced environment, I worked with students ranging from years 4 to 11, which taught me how to quickly identify a student's unique learning style and adapt my teaching on the spot.
