About MALINI
PERSONAL STATEMENT
I believe I make an excellent teacher. I have been teaching mathematics since the age of 24 and I am now 45. Years of teaching to different age groups in secondary schools as well as colleges has shown me my true potential as such that I am a very passionate about teaching my subject, approachable to my learners, motivated heavily in every task I take on so that my learners achieve success in their work.
Teaching is what I do best. From the start to the end of a lesson I know how to keep my learners engaged, assess my learners’ abilities as I go along and anticipate the level of work required for different ability groups. I am used to keeping my class lively and always hold a little smile and a good sense of humour. Even under extreme stressful situation I handle myself and my learners in an appropriate manner and I believe in keeping a very good relationship with them. I think once a good relationship is established positive learning can be anticipated among my learners. It is a great feeling and even better when I see them making the grades.
I consider myself adaptable, flexible and brilliantly organised and prepared for my learners in a learning environment. Once I step into a school environment I switch from being a homemaker to a very dedicated teacher and work on the smooth running of my day to day work with my children in the class.
My places of work have been, Riverside School, Nightingale Academy, Cardinal Pole School, Hackney and Community College, City of Westminster College, Barking and Dagenham College, New Educational Secondary School, Universal Private Secondary School and lastly but not the least Mr Edwards Saturday School.
I have been in London for 27 years. I have always worked with children. I am very passionate about my subject. I am always reading my texts during my spare time and reflect over how I could better my teaching for my learners the next time I confront them. I am able to teach Mathematics up to A level. In my O level exams I have A and A* for Mathematics and additional Mathematics. My degree has large components of Mathematics and Mechanics. I have over the years worked with children on a one to one as well as in schools and colleges to develop my teaching skills. I am very approachable and always wear a little smile whenever I am in the presence of my students. This gives me the feel that I am in control no matter what the learning environment is like. I can handle pressure very well.
I have a PGCE Secondary Mathematics and a PGCE Post Compulsory. I believe I have equipped myself very well to handle my learning environment with the learners. These two training have acted as tools in my career which when described brings out that I have trained to be who I am today; a mathematics teacher/lecturer.
