About Carly
My passion for mathematics started with curiosity about patterns, structures, and logical relationships. This led me to pursue a B.Sc in Applied Mathematics, where I explored theoretical reasoning and applied problem-solving. Over 10 years of teaching, I have helped students of varied skill levels gain clarity, confidence, and a structured approach to mathematical thinking. I prioritize understanding each student’s learning style and pace. Many learners struggle due to gaps in foundational knowledge rather than inability. I focus on identifying these gaps and building understanding step by step, using multiple approaches, examples, and visual explanations. I encourage students to ask questions and think critically, fostering independent reasoning. Outside teaching, I continue engaging with mathematics through applied modeling, research reading, and problem-solving challenges. Teaching mathematics is deeply rewarding because I witness students grow from uncertainty to mastery, gaining the confidence to reason logically and tackle complex problems effectively in both academic and real-life contexts.

Lesson content is tailored to the learner’s level. Beginners focus on numeracy, basic equations, and visual problem interpretation. Intermediate students strengthen algebraic manipulation, graph analysis, and word problem strategies. Advanced learners tackle calculus, proof-based reasoning, and complex problem-solving techniques. Guided practice, interactive exercises, and step-by-step explanations reinforce learning and ensure long-term comprehension.
