About Alec
My fascination with mathematics began at a young age, captivated by the elegance of patterns, structure, and logical reasoning. This curiosity led me to pursue an M.Sc in Applied Mathematics, where I explored both theoretical foundations and practical applications. Over 13 years of teaching, I have worked with students of various backgrounds, helping them transform confusion into clarity and hesitation into confidence. My approach focuses on patient, structured explanations, connecting concepts to practical examples, and promoting independent thinking.
I believe that every student can succeed in mathematics when lessons are tailored to their pace and style. Many learners struggle because foundational gaps are overlooked or abstract ideas are presented without context. My teaching philosophy emphasizes building a strong conceptual base, nurturing curiosity, and encouraging learners to solve problems methodically. I adapt explanations and exercises to the unique needs of each student, ensuring steady progress and deeper understanding.
Outside teaching, I engage with advanced mathematical research, problem-solving challenges, and real-world applications.
