About Eric
Thank you for taking a look at my profile. I have a bachelor's degree in computer science/mathematics with a minor in psychology, and who's eager to help others learn and overcome their math challenges. I love math and the art of communication, and while those aren't "qualifications", they are a promise that you will get your money's worth and then some.

My lessons are customized for each individual student based on their needs and goals, whether it's to understand why they got a certain homework problem wrong, or help getting started in a whole new area of mathematics. For homework style questions, we'll go through some problems you're struggling with and identify the misunderstandings, and work to correct them. If your goal is to learn a new subject, I'll gather some study materials for you to look through, and then schedule a session to go over the material and clear up any confusion.
My belief is that there are two kinds of misunderstandings in math. The first is a misunderstanding of formula. For example, forgetting trigonometric identities would fall in this category. The second kind of misunderstandings is a misunderstanding of meaning. What even IS cosine? How does x to the power of four thirds even make any sense? What is dx, and why if g'(x) dx equivalent to du? Why is ln(2)+ln(3)=ln(6) but ln(-1)+ln(-1) does not equal ln(1)? Changing the way you think about variables and functions help to make math seem a lot less random.
I'm only doing online sessions at the moment, and use a free web based video meeting platform for one on one sessions. Feel free to reach out, ask some questions, and see if I may be a good fit for your tutoring needs!
