About Anne

Hi there! My name is Anne and I am in my first year studying Mathematics and Economics Bsc at the University of Sheffield. Ever since I was young I enjoyed Maths, I love how there is always a right answer, and always found satisfaction in getting it. The older I got, the more challenging Maths became and I realised the power it had to solve real-life problems, such as Economic ones. Economics always had me curious, after all, money is a part of our day-to-day lives. So I decided to study the way systems worked economically along with more challenging ways of solving mathematical problems, and the two courses together create a wonderful way of solving our world problems.

Besides academics, I love to sing and dance and love music. I am a part of the Sheffield Dance Society, where I take Hip-hop classes, compete and volunteer with the local Sheffield Community.

Teaching younger students is something I have always shown an interest in, as I help tutor my younger siblings who are taking GCSE's and SATs. I would love to share my passion for Maths with you and hopefully exchange some of my knowledge and expertise with you. My positive energy can hopefully give you that little push in the right direction, so I can see you grow and fall in love with Maths too.

About the lesson

I'd like to build a relationship with the student so that they feel comfortable in the lessons and can engage very easily with me. In the first session, I'd get to know the student's strengths and weaknesses so that I can build a structured plan for them. After the first session, sessions start off with a "starter", followed by some teaching of the topic and then we would apply the knowledge onto exam questions or worked examples.
