About Esme
Hi! I’m an Earth Scientist with a first-class Master’s degree in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge. I’ve always enjoyed Maths and Science, achieving 4 A*s in Maths, Chemistry, Physics and French at A-level, as well as 9 grade 9s and 2 grade 8s at GCSE. My degree has taken me from investigating glaciers in Alaska to exploring the geological history of an ancient ocean in Australia, and I’ve worked with everything from satellite data and Python to climate science and field research.
I’ve been teaching GCSE students for three years and have experience working with students aged 11–18, helping with tricky topics, exam preparation and building confidence. I’m also happy to help with university applications, including personal statements and interview preparation.
I like to keep lessons friendly and relaxed, while making sure students properly understand the ideas behind what they’re learning. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and to come away from each lesson feeling like things make a little more sense than they did before.
