About Danyaal

My name is Danyaal Rahman and I have been doing maths problems from ever since I can remember. Maths is a complicated subject, because the methods used in becoming good at it are different to other subjects. Maths is a subject which you simply can’t just read from a textbook but rather learn by doing problems and progressively overloading the difficulty. As somebody who has experience in the new, harder GCSE and A-Level spec, I am confident in saying that I have vast experience in tackling the required Maths content. I have always scored highly in the UKMT Maths Challenges, only getting one question wrong when I participated in the competition in Year 13. This shows that I can apply the knowledge I had learnt in A-Level and apply it in more abstract scenarios, showing that I have a confident grasp in the content. As I am still a student, I feel I can relate more to my tutees in helping balancing a healthy work-life balance.

About the lesson

I am a graduate in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge, with two years of online Maths Tuition experience. I have two A*s in Maths and Further Maths at A-level. I have also represented my school at the UKMT Team Maths Challenge National Finals.

I believe a lot of people struggle with Maths because the method is revision is different to other subjects. Maths is not about rote memorisation but rather practicing as many questions as possible to consolidate a topic. A maths problem may look daunting at first, but I will teach systematic ways to solve complicated problems. In order to achieve the highest grades, exam technique is extremely important, especially checking work, which I believe is one of the main factors which distinguishes people from receiving good grades and excellent grades.
