About Tom
I am a highly organised and reliable individual who has recently completed an MSc in Modern Building Design at the University of Bath, with a strong academic background and excellent communication skills. Alongside my studies and professional experience in architecture and sustainability consultancy, I have developed a patient, supportive, and methodical approach to helping others learn. I take pride in being approachable, well-prepared, and adaptable, ensuring each student feels comfortable and motivated. My strong analytical and technical background, combined with experience solving complex problems and working with data, allows me to explain mathematical and scientific concepts clearly and in a way that is easy to understand. I offer structured and supportive lessons in Maths, Physics, and Chemistry, tailored to each student’s individual needs, learning style, and academic goals. My teaching approach focuses on building strong subject understanding, clear problem-solving strategies, and confidence, while linking theory to practical examples where possible. Lessons typically include step-by-step explanations, worked examples, guided practice, and exam-style questions, with an emphasis on identifying and addressing knowledge gaps. Lessons usually last 60 minutes, though longer or shorter sessions can be arranged. I hold A* and A grades at A-Level in Mathematics, Physics, and a 9 in GCSE Chemistry, and have completed an MSc in Modern Building Design, giving me a strong analytical and technical foundation. My lessons are suitable for primary, secondary, and GCSE students.
