I have been tutoring for over 10 years, for the last 3 years as a full time job. This includes undergraduate classes and A-level revision classes.

About the lesson

I am a qualified maths teacher turned tutor. I have a PhD in maths so have a great understanding of this demanding yet rewarding subject. My aim will be to lead you through the complexities with patience and enhance your understanding.

- Tell me about your qualifications.

First class degree in maths from UCL.

PhD in maths from King's College London.

PGCE secondary education in maths.

- How much do you charge?

I charge upwards of £25 p/h depending on the level of maths.

- Where do you teach?

I am able to visit the following towns: Maidstone, Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks, Cranbrook.

- When are you available?

I am available to tutor any time of the week morning, afternoon or evening, but prefer Thursday to Sunday if possible.

- Which ages and levels do you teach?

I tutor school year 10 upwards, from GCSE to degree.

- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?

GCSE, A level, STEP, Oxford MAT, IB, Degree.

- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.

I talk to the student via Skype and use a virtual classroom environment that allows me and the student to write on our screens and see what each other is writing on each others screen. all that is needed is an internet connection and a skype account. I provide the link to enter the classroom when Skype connection is achieved.

- Do you have a personal message for students?

Learning maths takes hard work, I'm afraid I have no magic wand to change this. What I do have is a deep understanding that allows me to show you how sometimes difficult concepts or topics can be related to prior knowledge that you are familiar with. I also provide a patient approach that helps make the journey to maths mastery a little smoother.
