About Reuben
I am currently studying for a Masters in Vocal Performance from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland following on from an undergraduate in Engineering for the University of Warwick. My time at university has shown me how important a great teacher can be, the ability to simplify a complex idea into manageable steps is crucial. I hope to bring this to my students whilst taking the time to understand what each student is looking to get from their qualification, from a deep understanding of a subject to set them up for further study or simply a grade which facilitates their next step. For all students, I try to be approachable allowing them to relax and get the most out of their lesson, as I know how valuable time away from formal learning can be.
I finished my degree during lockdown with remote learning and I understand how difficult it can be keeping students engaged during a video call. I will provide engaging and hopefully enjoyable lessons which leave students motivated and confident about their studies.

I will provide clear instruction regarding the necessary mathematical fundamentals for each exam board along with advice regarding exam technique to prepare my students for all eventualities.
My teaching methodology is centred around examples, which enhances the explanations of topics and ensures a large amount of exposure to exam style questions before the exam. I also challenge students to draw on prior knowledge when attempting a new topic in order to strengthen the overall understanding of a mathematical idea. This will also prepare students for dealing with unique question formats in exams, which often link different parts of the course together.
My lesson lengths range from 30 minutes to 60 minutes, to allow enough time to tackle a topic without losing focus or intensity in a lesson.
I have a Bachelors of Engineering from the University of Warwick along with A-levels in Maths, Further Maths and physics.
My lessons are aimed at Mathematics students studying GCSEs or A-levels.
