About Anna-Marie

Studies have proven that Body language is between 80-95% of our communication when speaking. The same concept exists in written communication. Words are powerful, however, the way in which they are presented sends a powerful message also. Don't let your style send a different message than your words, or undermine your point. Use your style to enhance your message and engage the readers.

I have a Masters in Global Business and undergrad in English. I have taught in many settings and in many formats. I worked in the English Lab at the University of Michigan, taught large groups and one-on-one in academic settings, home settings, business settings, and school settings. I customize my lessons to fit the needs of each individual learner. I work with your personal style, and build on it, to ensure the flow sounds natural, and feels natural, as you introduce new and powerful tools to increase effectiveness.

I have written books, articles, business proposals, research documentation, training manuals, and many items in-between. I enjoy writing, teaching and continual growth. I look forward to working and growing with you.

About the lesson

If you want to send a message that gets the reader's attention, demonstrates you are highly competent, and successfully gets your point across, you've selected the correct instructor!
Business writing is not the same as the writing that we learned in school. Rather, it is a set of words and phrases constructed in a specific way that can make the difference in your communication being read vs dismissed.

The way in which you write is very telling about your experience and subject knowledge. The first few sentences, along with the format, makes the first impression and sets the tone. It's not just grammar, or fancy terms, it's all encompassing. From opening to closing, and the format throughout.
Identifying your audience is just one of the tricks I will teach you, and what to do once you have their attention. In our lesson, I will also show you how to use a style that is comfortable for you, while delivering your message in a concise, powerful way.
