My Teaching Approach & Methodology
I take a highly personalized, interactive, and example-driven approach to teaching. My goal is to move away from rigid lecturing and rote memorization, focusing instead on making learning active and engaging.
Interactive & Example-Driven: I introduce new concepts through real-world examples. For technical or historical topics, I relate abstract concepts to everyday experiences so they become tangible and easy to grasp.
Paced & Adaptive Learning: Every student learns differently. I continuously evaluate a student’s comfort level with the material and adapt my vocabulary, depth, and speed accordingly.
Scaffolded Problem-Solving: I guide students through complex problem-solving step-by-step. By breaking large problems into smaller, manageable parts, I help students build independent critical thinking skills and academic confidence.
Regular Class Structure
To ensure consistency and maximum retention, my 1-on-1 online sessions follow a structured, three-part flow:The Warm-Up & Recap (First 5–10 minutes): We start with a brief, casual review of the previous lesson. This activates the student's memory, addresses lingering questions, and sets a confident tone for the day.
Core Concept Exploration (Main Session Block): I introduce the day’s topic using interactive tools, digital aids, and practical examples. I intentionally pause frequently to check for understanding and invite the student to explain the concept back to me in their own words.
Active Practice & Reflection (Final 10 minutes): The student tackles a targeted exercise or mini-problem independently while I observe. We wrap up by highlighting what they did well and identifying key takeaways to remember for next time.
