About Mary

Hi, I’m Mary. I graduated from Imperial College London with a 1st in my master’s year in Mechanical Engineering, and I have a real passion for engineering and education. I have been tutoring Maths and Physics at GCSE and A-level for the past 7 years. Notably, I have helped two A-level students progress from U to C and a GCSE student from grade 3 to grade 6.
For two years, I led a national award-winning engineering outreach programme, encouraging young students to explore engineering and STEM subjects. I was also fortunate enough to receive three engineering scholarships and achieved 3 A*s at A-level.

About the lesson

My approach focuses on building confidence and developing the ability to recognise patterns in exam questions. Sessions typically involve:
• Assessing the student’s current level and identifying areas to work on
• Clear, tailored teaching of key concepts
• Applying knowledge through practice questions
• Developing exam technique and problem-solving skills
I understand that every student learns differently, so I’m very flexible in my approach and adapt sessions to suit the individual.
