About Teodor

My name is Teodor, I have had a very culturally diverse, international upbringing. My friends and family describe me as pedantic, patient and attentive - I would agree.

For as long as I can remember I have been unsatisfied with the rigid approach of modern academia, and personally struggled in school. As a result of this, I struggled a lot with my academic confidence in the past, and have a lot of empathy for pupils who have been failed by the system and led to believe they are the problem.

About the lesson

Available to meet in person and online, whatever is more convenient for the pupil’s preference. I have previously only taught family members and friends, who have all foundthe experience pleasant and would describe me as a patient teacher with an attention to detail. I prioritise learning where the pupil has gaps in their understanding, and I strive to provide a thorough understanding rather than a methodological approach. I don’t stick to any one method as I prefer to engage with the pupil to identify and meet them where they are struggling. I prioritise engagement as I personally always struggled to learn unless I could apply my knowledge to a realistic scenario - especially important in math and physics because they can seem very abstract up to the GCSE level and it can be hard for the pupil to understand why they are learning what they are learning.

I believe in shorter, more frequent lessons that can help the pupil feel less overwhelmed and give them more time to process the information being taught. Furthermore, I believe that new generations are able to learn quicker and the traditional length and approach to teaching is outdated for us. Shorter lessons can maximise on this attention span.
