About Ben
Hi, my name is Ben and I'm a Mechatronics Engineering grad. I have always enjoyed teaching and helping others understand tough concepts. It also happens that my strength is in mathematics. I can remember being in grade 9 math spending study periods helping teach a grade 10 friend when they were struggling. Throughout high school and university I always enjoyed helping teach my peers concepts that I understood quicker than them. I think teaching something to someone else is one of the best ways to identify blind spots in your own knowledge and its a tool I like to use when tutoring. I hope to help you achieve whatever goals you may have for tutoring!

As a math tutor, my approach is to create a supportive and engaging learning environment. I start by assessing the student's strengths and weaknesses to tailor lessons accordingly. I break down complex concepts into simpler, relatable terms, and provide plenty of examples and practice problems. I encourage active participation, asking questions, and solving problems together. Practice and repetition are key, so I provide ample opportunities for the student to apply what they've learned. I also emphasize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to help them tackle complex math problems. Overall, I strive to instill confidence, foster a positive attitude towards math, and ensure continuous progress and improvement. Lessons can be targeted from high school math to preparation for university level courses.
