About Rachel

Hi! I'm Rachel, a Registered Nurse (BSN), former Labor and Delivery nurse, EMT, and current medical student. I know firsthand how challenging nursing school and NCLEX preparation can be, and I'm passionate about helping students succeed with confidence. My teaching focuses on understanding the "why" behind nursing concepts, strengthening clinical judgment, and developing effective test-taking strategies rather than memorization alone. I create personalized lessons tailored to each student's needs and learning style. Whether you're preparing for the Next Generation NCLEX, struggling with a difficult course, or looking to boost your confidence, I'm here to help you reach your goals.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is centered on helping students truly understand nursing concepts rather than simply memorizing facts. I believe confidence comes from knowing why an answer is correct, so I emphasize clinical reasoning, critical thinking, and the decision-making process that the Next Generation NCLEX is designed to assess. Every lesson is personalized to the student's strengths, learning style, and goals, whether they need help mastering content, improving test-taking strategies, or rebuilding confidence after an unsuccessful exam attempt.

A typical lesson begins with identifying the student's areas of difficulty through discussion and practice questions. We then review high-yield concepts using real-world clinical scenarios, visual explanations, and evidence-based learning techniques such as active recall and spaced repetition. Throughout the session, we work through NCLEX-style questions together, focusing on how to analyze each question, eliminate incorrect answers, recognize common testing patterns, and apply sound clinical judgment. At the end of each lesson, I provide a personalized study plan and targeted practice to reinforce what we covered.

My goal is not only to help students pass the NCLEX but also to help them become confident, safe, and competent nurses. My tutoring is ideal for nursing students preparing for the Next Generation NCLEX, recent nursing graduates, students who want extra support throughout nursing school, and repeat test-takers looking for a fresh approach to studying and test-taking.
