About Umer
I am Umer, a second-year medical student at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London. I grew up in West London and went through the same GCSE and A-level system my students are navigating now, so I understand exactly where the pressure points are.
I achieved Grade 9s across GCSE Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Maths, as well as A grades in A-level Biology and Chemistry before going on to study Medicine. I know what it takes to achieve top grades and enjoy helping students build both confidence and understanding in their studies.
I believe the best learning comes from genuinely understanding the material rather than simply memorising it. My aim is to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, developing their problem-solving skills and reaching their full academic potential.

I am a second-year medical student at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London. I achieved an A in A-level Chemistry and a Grade 9 in GCSE Chemistry, and I understand first-hand the skills and exam techniques needed to succeed.
I tutor both GCSE and A-level Chemistry, focusing on building genuine understanding rather than simply memorising facts. I break down difficult topics into clear, manageable steps and help students develop confidence in applying their knowledge to unfamiliar problems and exam questions.
Lessons are one hour long and tailored to each student's current level, exam board and specific areas for improvement. Whether a student needs support with core concepts, revision strategies or exam technique, my teaching style is patient, structured and supportive. Lessons are available online.
