About Safiyyah

Hi! I’m a medical student at King’s College London, currently intercalating in Global Health. I’ve been tutoring for over 4 years and specialise in GCSE Biology, Chemistry, and Geography. I also support A-Level students in Biology and Chemistry. I’ve delivered lessons for GCSE and A-Level summer schools and worked with students from a wide range of backgrounds—including both comprehensive and selective grammar schools. This means I’m confident adapting lessons to suit different learning styles and levels, from students aiming to secure a pass to those pushing for top grades. I chose Biology, Chemistry, and Geography at A-Level (achieving A*A A) and love helping students tackle tricky topics, master exam technique, and gain confidence in their ability. Lessons are structured, engaging and fully tailored—whether you want to fill knowledge gaps, improve essay writing, or boost exam performance. I tutor online using Zoom and interactive tools, and the first lesson is free so you can try it out with no pressure. Let’s work together to achieve the grades you’re aiming for.

About the lesson

My GCSE Chemistry lessons are designed to simplify tricky topics and build the confidence students need to succeed. Each lesson is structured to build knowledge and exam technique: 1) We start with a short review to check understanding and recall. 2) Clear, step-by-step explanations of key topics like bonding, moles, acids and alkalis, electrolysis, and rates of reaction 3) Interactive diagrams and visuals to help with tricky concepts 4) Exam-style practice, focusing on how to approach 4-, 6-, and 9-mark questions Techniques to tackle tricky calculations with confidence and accuracy I also teach how to revise effectively, avoid common mistakes, and make sense of the mark schemes. We use real exam papers from AQA, Edexcel and OCR depending on your exam board, and I adapt the pace and content to suit your learning style. Whether you’re struggling with content, timing, or confidence, my goal is to make Chemistry less overwhelming and more manageable.
