About Michael

UNDERGRADUATE PSYCHOLOGY TUTORING

Hi! I’m a University of Sydney graduate with a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours Class I). With over four years of tutoring experience, I’ve helped more than 30 students succeed across a wide range of psychology subjects, achieving a 100% pass rate, with many students earning distinction and high distinction results.

I’ve tutored the following USYD psychology units:

PSYC1001 – Psychology 1001
PSYC1002 – Psychology 1002
PSYC2012 – Statistics and Research Methods
PSYC2016 – Perception, Cognition, and Intelligence
PSYC2017 – Personality and Social Psychology
PSYC3011 – Learning and Behaviour
PSYC3014 – Behavioural and Cognitive Neuroscience
PSYC3018 – Abnormal Psychology

I specialise in simplifying complex concepts, supporting assignment planning and writing, and boosting exam confidence. I’ve marked and reviewed over 30 research reports, and I provide free online resources and report exemplars to all students. Just search "Psychology Tutoring Sydney (Notion site)" to get started!

CASPER & MEDICAL SCHOOL INTERVIEW TUTORING

In addition to psychology tutoring, I also offer CASPer exam preparation and medical school interview coaching for pre-medical students.

As an incoming first-year postgraduate medical student in Sydney, I achieved a Quartile 4 (Q4) CASPer score, which played a key role in my admission despite a GAMSAT score of 62. This gives me a practical, insight-driven understanding of how non-academic components are assessed and how to stand out when your GAMSAT isn’t exceptional.

I can help you with:

- CASPer strategy, structure, and timing
- Ethical reasoning and professional judgement frameworks
- Crafting authentic, high-scoring responses
- MMI and panel interview preparation
- Communicating motivation, insight, and reflection clearly under pressure

My approach is structured, supportive, and evidence-based, drawing on my background in psychology and health research to help you perform confidently and authentically.

About the lesson

Lessons are tailored, structured, and outcome-focused, designed to build both confidence and performance. For undergraduate psychology, sessions focus on breaking down complex concepts, strengthening exam technique, and providing clear guidance on assignment planning, academic writing, and research reports. Drawing on over four years of tutoring experience and a First Class Honours background, I support students across a wide range of USYD psychology units, with targeted help in statistics, neuroscience, and core theory subjects. Students also receive free online resources and report exemplars to reinforce learning between sessions.

For CASPer and medical school interview preparation, lessons emphasise strategy, ethical reasoning, and clear communication under time pressure. Sessions include structured response frameworks, realistic practice questions, and personalised feedback to help you present insight, professionalism, and authenticity. As an incoming postgraduate medical student with a Q4 CASPer result, I offer practical, experience-based coaching—particularly valuable for applicants aiming to stand out beyond their academic scores.

All lessons are supportive, evidence-based, and personalised to your goals, whether you’re aiming to improve grades, refine assessments, or maximise your chances of medical school entry.
