About Liky

I'm Liky, I am currently a Medical student at the University of Glasgow. I love being able to help others understand course material and it brings me great satisfaction to support them in achieving their own academic goals. I am excited to share my techniques in learning and methods which can help them understand difficult parts of the course which I had to overcome myself. I will put in time and care into curating a lesson which fits your personal needs and pace. - All As and highest marks in National 5 and Higher Maths, English, Chemistry, Biology and Physics - Top of my grade at Advanced Higher Biology and Chemistry - I am a medical student at Glasgow University. I also received offers for Medicine at Edinburgh, Dundee and Aberdeen. As someone who is pursuing medicine, I understand the vigorous hard work needed to achieve top marks and also want my students to understand that good grades do not come with luck, but with dedication.

About the lesson

My lessons will be interactive and targeted to help your child with what they need most. We will go over concepts that are hard to understand together and I will make sure I teach at an appropriate pace for them. Having the most up-to-date experience allows me to plan the most relevant lessons. Being a student, I fully understand the struggles other students may be having with their subjects and I know the best way on how to tackle these issues. Students feel more comfortable being taught by someone of a similar age which allows for open discussions on what they really need help with. I encourage all of my students to enjoy the subjects they are learning and I try to foster a genuine interest for these scientific topics. I studied for GCSE until 2021 and am very familiar with the course contents, however I took my exams in Scotland so instead of GCSE and A-Level qualifications, I have its equivalent of National 5 and Highers/Advanced Highers. I am a top A student, and received the highest score in my school in all of my National 5s, in Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics at Higher level and in Biology and Chemistry at Advanced Higher level. As someone who has personally studied the course contents recently and aced the knowledge required, I know the most effective explanations and methods of study. I want my students to understand that achieving top marks comes with consistency and practice, so it is achievable to anyone who puts in the work. I have conducted numerous private tutoring lessons in Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. During these sessions, I plan interactive lessons that students enjoy, but most importantly, will remember and understand. I take the time and care to figure out the causes of any issues they are having with the course. I am adept in video call technology and through my experience, can create a comfortable judgement-free environment for students. I have received lots of positive feedback from both parents and students, and I often hear that I have motivated students to strive for the best academically. Students tell me that I make difficult subjects a lot less intimidating and approachable. Parents have also said that they see a renewed attitude in their children towards learning as once they are able to understand the content, it becomes much more enjoyable to learn. I used to volunteer at a secondary school in tuition where I helped students who needed extra help with their subjects and for exam preparation. I have lots of experience in planning tasks and activities to support the learning of students I am in charge of. I have work experience at a primary school where I supported students for their literacy as well as re-teaching maths to support groups. I was responsible for many 1:1 teaching sessions and have experience going over concepts with children who do not understand in the main class.
