About Minaal
Hi!
I’m offering GCSE Biology and Chemistry tutoring to students who want to improve their understanding, confidence and exam performance.
One of the biggest reasons I want to tutor is because I genuinely understand what it feels like to struggle academically. My own journey wasn’t always straightforward — I went from having much lower target grades to ultimately achieving 10 A*s in my GCSEs. Because I’ve experienced both sides of that journey, I understand that students learn differently and that simply being told to “revise more” isn’t always the answer. I also achieved 162/162 in GCSE English Literature, which gave me a strong understanding of how to approach exams effectively and, importantly, how to turn what you know into marks.
I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to tutoring.
Every student has different strengths, weaknesses, learning preferences and goals, so I aim to make lessons flexible, supportive and tailored specifically to you.
No matter where you're starting from, improvement is possible — I've experienced that journey myself, and I'd love to help you experience it too.

My approach to tutoring is centred around understanding the student first, and then adapting my teaching around them. I don't believe that every student should be taught in the same way, as different people understand and retain information differently.
I like to begin by understanding the student's current level, their goals and the areas they find most difficult. From there, I can tailor each lesson to focus on what will be most useful for them, including step-by-step explanations, active recall, exam question application to master exam technique.
I encourage students to explain ideas in their own words, ask questions, attempt problems and actively participate. This helps me identify where they are struggling and allows us to address those gaps immediately.
