About Laura
I am a medical student at the Karolinska Institute and have a bilingual IB Diploma from Hvitfeldtska in Gothenburg. My strongest subjects are biology, chemistry, and math. Although I am studying medicine at university, I have the most experience of teaching math as I was a math tutor in high school. In both elementary school and middle school, I helped my friends with math, but it was only in high school that I was an official tutor.
I completed the IB program with honors, so if you are in the IB program as well and are struggling with other subjects or TOK/EE I would be happy to help with that as well!

I focus on the student's own understanding and therefore the first thing I always do is ask the student to try to do the problem(s) on their own. After that, it's a lot easier to do my job! That is to identify where there are gaps in understanding, find different ways to fill those gaps, and in general be available for questions and support. If a student is really struggling with a topic, I will of course give more of a "lecture" where I explain the concepts in a condensed manner or thoroughly depending on the students learning style.
