About David
"Teaching piano offers a unique way to map the mechanics of music onto the keys. My 13 years of tutoring include 35 students ranging from complete beginners to exam candidates. I hold a BMus Music Performance from the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music.
Focus rests on chord voicing, grade exam prep for ABRSM or Trinity, pop, contemporary, and classical repertoire. Sight reading and sight playing are constant priorities.
I also emphasize accompaniment skills alongside proper posture and hand position. Hand independence remains a vital goal for every player. What musical goals are you working toward currently?"

"True progress rarely stems from simply repeating the same scales without a clear plan. My methods prioritize fundamentals first to ensure technical habits support your artistic expression.
Given my BMus background, I structure content to address specific challenges in sight reading or hand coordination. These sessions accommodate diverse levels by meeting you where you are at your current stage.
We spend 10 minutes specifically on the unique differentiator of deep technical refinement for each passage. This ensures that you develop long term control rather than short term fixes. I guide you through the literature with a steady and motivating presence. The focus stays on building a solid foundation that supports your growth throughout our 13 years of combined experience."
