About Roshan
I am an enthusiastic Guitar tutor with 11 years of teaching experience and a strong record of mentoring around 300 students across various age groups. Teaching guitar gives me the opportunity to help students grow creatively, emotionally, and technically. I truly enjoy guiding learners from basic skills to confident playing. My teaching philosophy is based on personal connection, slow and steady progress, and clarity. I believe every student has a unique learning style, so I adapt my methods to match their pace and goals. I cover essential guitar basics like chord transitions, plucking techniques, rhythmic accuracy, strumming patterns, and finger coordination. I also introduce music theory in a simple manner so students can understand scales and song structure easily. One of my proudest achievements is helping shy beginners become confident enough to perform in front of their peers, teachers, and families. Many of my students have taken part in school functions, talent shows, and college music events. Watching them transform over time is incredibly fulfilling. My lessons are designed to be friendly, practical, and motivating. I make sure students feel comfortable asking questions and trying new things. Whether they want to play classical pieces, acoustic songs, or modern tunes, I help them move forward with confidence and enjoyment.

My teaching approach for Guitar is centred on clear communication, flexible teaching methods, and practical musical examples that help students understand both technique and creativity. I teach in a simple, calm, and encouraging way so students can feel confident throughout the learning process. I start with foundational techniques like chords, rhythm control, strumming patterns, finger strength, and correct hand posture. As students grow, I introduce scales, melodic playing, improvisation, fingerstyle technique, and expressive elements like dynamics and tone. I use real-life examples from various genres—pop, blues, rock, classical, and folk—to show how techniques appear in actual music. I also use small case studies to explain how famous guitarists shaped their style. Along with Guitar, I teach related subjects such as Music Theory, Chord Progressions, Songwriting Basics, Ear Training, Tablature Reading, and Rhythm Studies. These additional subjects help students understand music more completely and apply their knowledge in creative ways. Communication is essential in my teaching. I listen to each student’s needs and adjust lessons according to their learning style. Visual learners receive charts and diagrams, auditory learners get listening tasks, and practical learners receive hands-on practice and repetition. Every session includes step-by-step practice, helpful feedback, and short weekly goals. My goal is to help students grow into confident, expressive musicians who understand music from both a technical and creative perspective.
