About Taras

I've been teaching for 18 years, mostly in middle school, and have taught numerous subjects including math, science, history, and grammar. I have tutored in the past, including through Sylvan and as a standardized test prep tutor through Study Point, and I often run after-school study groups at my current school. I hold two Master's degrees and love to learn. My students will tell you they love coming to my class as I always try to make things interesting, fun, while making sure we complete the tasks and skills they'll need in the future.

About the lesson

I enjoy helping students have the light bulb turn on using different techniques based on their learning style and needs.
Lessons include:
Begin with a check-in, seeing how the student is feeling and if they have any questions or concerns- it is their tutoring session.
Review our last session and review any work that needs to be done (like summer school or school assignments).
Introduction to new skills ideas.
Practice of new skills.
Review of what we've covered
Some sort of wrap-up activity or review work.
