About Emma
Beginners and exam candidates often feel overwhelmed when starting their musical path. I work with students who need a steady hand to navigate ear training and complex music theory.
Having taught for 13 years, I understand the challenges of learning blues progressions, power chords, and fingerpicking. My MMus degree ensures that even the most technical aspects of electric technique or lead guitar are taught with clarity. You will find that improvisation and soloing become manageable once we establish proper tuning and maintenance habits. My method prioritizes a disciplined yet energetic path toward your personal goals.

You should consider how your hands interact with the fretboard during those first critical weeks. I design the space to accommodate your unique learning speed, drawing on my 13 years of classroom experience. We examine how a simple blues lick can lead into advanced improvisation. Some students find power chords difficult at first, so we break them down until they feel natural.
The process is intense, yet I find that focusing on the technical side of grade exam prep makes the final result quite satisfying. It is simply enjoyable to watch a student finally master a difficult lead guitar sequence after weeks of practice.
