About Ivan
With more than 11 years of experience as a Drum tutor, I specialize in teaching college students from beginner to intermediate levels. I help students build strong rhythm foundations and confident playing techniques. My teaching approach is based on creativity, critical thinking, and mentorship.
I focus on helping students understand how rhythms work instead of memorizing patterns. This allows them to adapt easily to different music styles. I use innovative teaching methods such as slow-tempo mastery, groove variation exercises, and guided improvisation. I also include timing drills and coordination challenges to improve accuracy.
Accountability plays a key role in my teaching. I provide structured practice plans and review progress regularly. As a mentor, I support students with clear feedback and encouragement. In addition to drums, I teach rhythm theory, basic notation, time signatures, and performance confidence. My lessons are practical, motivating, and goal-oriented.

My drum teaching methodology focuses on building strong foundations while encouraging creativity. I aim to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable and motivated.
Creativity plays an important role in my lessons. Students explore different grooves, fills, and musical styles. Song-based learning and rhythm exercises help students apply skills in real music.
As a mentor and critical thinker, I explain rhythm patterns, timing, and coordination clearly. I help students understand how drums support music and improve overall musical awareness.
Accountability is a key part of my approach. I set clear goals, track progress, and provide regular feedback. Students learn discipline, consistency, and responsibility.
In addition to drum lessons, I also teach related subjects such as basic music theory, rhythm notation, and tempo training. My goal is to help students grow into skilled and confident musicians.
