About Brandon
Sometimes I admit that music theory sounds boring until you apply it to a specific chord progression that actually matters to your ears. Kids and intermediate players alike often struggle with the same basic hurdles when they try to move beyond simple strumming patterns.
I draw on my BA Modern Music to strip away the complex jargon. Electric technique and acoustic nuances become much easier once you stop treating them as separate chores. We look at blues progressions to understand how to build a solo that actually tells a story. Self-taught players usually find that adding structure to their practice helps them finish more songs.
Improvisation becomes a natural extension of your writing rather than a scary mystery. Using the guitar as a compositional tool changes how you hear the music you write. You will walk away with concrete tools for your next session.

Holding a BA Modern Music, I spent 11 years playing in 6 bands and releasing 4 records across the New York area. My main work involves teaching 300 students how to view the fretboard as a tool for composition rather than just performance. That real world touring life taught me how to handle stage pressure and genuine gear issues.
Writing songs feels different when you understand how the mechanics of sound actually function. I handle the technical side so you can focus on your voice. Most of my students appreciate the honesty I bring to the process. You will not find any fluff here.
I keep things practical and direct for every single player. My process works because I spent 11 years doing it for real.
