About Devin
A lifelong lover of music, I began playing classical guitar when I was 12 years old. Throughout high school, I studied with Smokey Emerson (University of Central Arkansas) and performed as a member of the UCA Guitar Ensemble.
In 2012, I began attending Webster University, where I studied with renowned guitarist John McClellan. During college, I was an instructor with the Childbloom Guitar Program in St. Charles, MO, where I taught kids ages 5-14.
Since graduating with a Bachelor of Music in Classical Guitar Performance (2016), I teach and perform as a freelance musician based in Billings, Montana.

I focus on building a strong foundation on correct technique with my students. This prevents students from having to go back and fix faulty techniques and problems that can develop down the road.
Technical studies I teach include scales, finger independence exercises, arpeggios, studies by Brouwer, Villa-Lobos, Carcassi, and many others. As students master the basics, we begin focusing on classical guitar repertoire, both traditional and new, and work on developing interpretive skills and musicianship.
I teach classical guitar to beginner-advanced students, and all ages.
